why I scrapbook

The AC Bailey Scrap Scouts challenge has been so much fun and it's hard to believe it's almost over. For our last challenge we had to use at least 2 pictures with us being in at least one of them. We also had to use a technique from one of the previous weeks and tell why it is that we scrapbook. I chose to use tecniques from the journaling, ink/distress and stitching challenges. Here is what I came up with:

A few new pages

I haven't updated for a little while again...Seems that things get crazy around here with the kids, housework and stuff at AC Bailey, etc. Here are a few new pages I've been working on recently.

On a slightly different note

How many of you watch American Idol? After last night's elimination they are down to the last 2 contestants, David Cook and David Archuleta. I kinda think that Syesha got shafted...she was better than they gave her credit for. I think the producers really wanted the whole David vs. David showdown.

I got published!

Well, sorta. Not in a magazine but in an online newsletter for the scrapbooking site, scrapjazz.com. Our design team coordinator, Lisa, writes articles for the site and she asked a few of us from the AC Bailey team to do layouts based on a sketch for one of her articles. So, here it is! Our cute little Aimee.

Okay, so I lied

This will be my last post for today...probably. Hailey (my 3 year old) participated in a kind of gymnastics recital this past Saturday and I wanted to show some pictures from that. She had so much fun and was ecstatic to receive the little medal from her teacher at the end. She's been re-playing the events of that day ever since!

Last post of the day

Can you believe it? Four blog posts today. I've been having so much fun creating these pages that I can't resist showing them off. This one that I made last night shows off the AC Bailey May kit of the month featuring Sassafras Lass "Pocket Full of Rosies" and Making Memories "Ruby." Also MM flowers, ribbon and buttons; fun transparencies by My Mind's Eye. Cute cute stuff! This picture of Hailey was perfect!

Inspired by a song

Have you ever listened to a song and thought it would make a great scrapbook page? Well, I have, and on more than one occasion. My latest inspiration came from Trace Adkins' new song, "You're Gonna Miss This," which talks about a young girl in too much of a hurry to grow up and have what she thinks is the next best thing. The grass is always greener, or so they say. Anyway, I think this applies to me as a mom- instead of trying to get the next thing on my list of things to do, I need to sit down and enjoy these fleeting moments with my kids while they are little. This page is about them.

First assignment

For my first AC Bailey design team assignment I got to play with the Daisy Bucket Summer Cottage collection, Bazzill edges and American Crafts Thickers chipboard letters. I had so much fun cutting, sanding and inking, sewing and cutting some more. Here are my projects for this first assignment.

Lotsa scrapping fun

It's been quite the party over at AC Bailey for our big Scrap Scouts challenge. Last week was the stitching challenge and this week's one is to create a hybrid layout. Here's what I did for those:
